Illegal manufacturers and scientists have historically produced various cannabinoids in the laboratory for various uses. Cannabinoids produced by illegal manufacturers always end up on the streets where they are sold to people and abused. The human body is also capable of producing its own cannabinoids. The cannabinoids produced by the human body are used for various metabolic and other bodily functions such as regulating pleasure, thinking, concentration, memory, body movement, and awareness of time. They also regulate pain, appetite, and the senses like touch, smell, hearing, taste, and sight.
The medical fraternity is mainly interested in cannabis because of two key chemicals found in it, that is, CBD and THC. THC has several medical uses. The uses include reduction of nausea, boosting of appetite, reduction of muscle control problems, pain, and inflammation.
On the other hand, CBD has no effect on behavior or the mind. It is useful in reducing inflammation and epileptic seizures. It is also known to be able to treat or reduce severity of mental illness. Research in this field is still in progress.
